Herpes Hangout:
An Open Discussion on Navigating Dating and Relationships
Saturday, November 8th | 11:00AM | Fortune Square Ballroom - D
I've hosted "herpes hangouts" before and usually they go to people wanting a space to share their personal experiences and trade support and just have a sense of community in a "safe" space. But here are some points:
Stigma and Sexual Identity: How shame around herpes intersects with dating, desire, and belonging in non-monogamous and sex-positive communities
Disclosure Dynamics: When, how, and why people disclose their status, plus emotional considerations beyond just “the facts”
Consent & Safer Sex Practices: Navigating risk with transparency—fluid bonding, barrier conversations, testing, and communication
Allyship in Action: What support looks like from partners, playmates, and friends—inside and outside of intimate relationships
Liberation Through Community: Reclaiming pleasure, safety, and connection through honest, stigma-free spaces
1.
Participants living with herpes will leave with more language and confidence around disclosure, boundary setting, and navigating play/dating spaces
2.
Allies and community members will gain deeper empathy, practical tools for support, and a clearer understanding of how stigma shows up interpersonally
3.
Resources for ongoing education, support, and community
Courtney Brame (he/him) is the founder of Something Positive for Positive People (SPFPP), a nonprofit and podcast that’s been reducing herpes stigma through storytelling, education, and peer support since 2017. As a yoga therapist in training, sex-positive educator, and Black man living with HSV-2, Courtney holds space for honest conversations around sexual health, shame, and identity—especially in non-traditional relationships.
Over the years, he’s supported hundreds of people navigating life after a herpes diagnosis and helped many reclaim their pleasure, boundaries, and self-worth. Courtney’s work sits at the intersection of STI awareness, mental health, and stigma-free sexuality. He’s been featured on platforms like the National Coalition of STD Directors, Pornhub’s Sexual Wellness Center, and various sexuality conferences.
He’s not here to offer medical advice or polished expert takes—just real talk, lived wisdom, and open dialogue. Expect vulnerability, some laughs, and a space where herpes isn’t a conversation killer but a gateway to deeper, more honest connection.

Poly Skills to:
Level Up Your Parenting Game
Saturday, November 8th | 2:00PM | Fortune Square Ballroom - A
To thrive in polyamory, many of us have had to develop relationship skills we weren’t taught growing up, skills like clear communication, emotional regulation, boundary-setting, and consent.
But what if these same skills that make you a great partner are also the key to thriving, connected, consent-based parenting relationships?
In this experiential session, we’ll explore how the tools of polyamory and intentional partnering can be translated into powerful practices for instilling these abilities in our children and families. Through discussion, hands-on exercises, and somatic experiences, you’ll begin to embody skills that support both your adult relationships and your parenting journey.
1.
The relational skills we develop through polyamory—such as communication, boundary-setting, and emotional presence—can deeply enrich our parenting relationships.
2.
When children are raised in environments that honor consent, they grow into adults who understand and practice consent in meaningful ways.
3.
Learning to respond to our children’s challenging behaviors with curiosity and compassion can strengthen our capacity to show up as better, more connected partners.

Modeling Healthy Love:
How We Talk to Youth About Healthy Relationships, Boundaries & Connection
Sunday, November 9th | 9:00AM | Fortune Square Ballroom - C
How we talk to youth about healthy relationships matters—and often reflects what we ourselves are still learning. In this interactive session, we’ll explore how middle and high school students are engaging with topics like communication, self-worth, and boundaries. Drawing from firsthand experience facilitating workshops with teens, I’ll share key lessons, real-life examples, and common questions that come up when young people talk about relationships. Together, we’ll reflect on how adults can model clear, compassionate communication and how our own relationship frameworks shape the way we engage with the next generation. This session invites open discussion, self-reflection, and an exploration of how to be both affirming and age-appropriate in conversations with youth.
1.
Participants will gain insight into youth perspectives on healthy and unhealthy relationships and examine how intergenerational conversations can shape more inclusive understandings of trust, respect, and connection.
2.
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of different types of boundaries—such as emotional, physical, and material—and how these support respectful and consensual relationships.
3.
Participants will practice tools for communicating personal boundaries effectively and responding to others with respect, with an emphasis on modeling these skills in both youth-facing and adult relationships.

Black Girl Magic:
Witchcraft as Sexual Freedom
Sunday, November 9th | 11:00AM | Fortune Square Ballroom - A
Throughout American history, Black people have consistently been policed and scrutinized. This scrutiny magnifies when looking at the intersectionality of race and gender for Black women. America’s history of negative sexual stereotypes for Black women in collaboration with the strict rules and guidelines of the Black Church, have left many Black women feeling dissatisfied with their intimate relationships. A return to indigenous practices, often referred to historically and recently, as witchcraft, these practices give newfound freedom to Black women. This presentation dives deeper into the lived and embodied experiences of Black women in the United States who have reclaimed long lost practice and their sexual freedom and autonomy.
1.
Knowledge of indigenous practices
2.
Connection to community
3.
Understanding of their own potential freedom and autonomy

Embracing Conflict:
Skills to Develop Understanding and Find Solutions Together
Sunday, November 9th | 11:00AM | Fortune Square Ballroom - C
Conflict naturally occurs in every human relationship. It can be uncomfortable or stressful, and we may resist even identifying it, but learning conflict conversation skills can help. In this interactive training, participants will practice listening to truly understand, and experience that listening and understanding from others in the workshop. Participants will also get practical tools to calm their stress response during conflict, increase their self-awareness around their conflict styles, and explore how to structure and prepare for difficult conversations.
1.
Listening to understand is a crucial skill to develop in order to have better relationship conversations when we have differences and disagreements.
2.
We can benefit from understanding how we tend to behave in conflict situations (our conflict styles), how others behave, and how different styles interact.
3.
To prepare for difficult relationship conversations, we can start with self-reflection on our motivations, feelings and goals and on what we think the other person's perspective is. Getting active listening support from someone else can help us do this prep.
